Our editors are certified by the Board of Editors in the Life Sciences (BELS) or have advanced degrees in the biological sciences, and many are published authors themselves. Because we have many well known medical journal publishers as clients, we are familiar with editorial procedures and journal requirements, and can help you through each stage of the publication process, from initial submission, through acceptance.
Send
By E-mail: This is the fastest way. Please write out any special characters (for example, beta, alpha, greater than or equal to). Please do not use the automatic numbering, footnote, or endnote feature of your word processing program for creating your reference citations. Send two files, one in regular formatted text, and one in rich text format. Please fax figures and tables.
By Fax: First, you must be certain that you have printed your manuscript in a large font (12 pt) with wide margins (3 cm or 1.2 inches) and have double spaced the lines throughout. Use a high quality fax machine and send all pages of your manuscript, with tables and figures. We can return your manuscript by fax, e-mail, or on a computer disk.
By Express Carrier Mail: This can take several days, but is an especially good way to send detailed figures and tables. Send us a printed out copy of your manuscript (with all figures and tables), and a copy of the manuscript on a 3.5 inch computer disk. Mark the disk with your name, and manuscript title, and the computer (IBM PC or Macintosh) and word processing software used.
With any method: If you want formatting for a specific journal, include the instructions to the authors, the journal title, and a few pages of a similar article, as an example.
Payment
Our substantive editing fee is $35 per page (250 words); be sure to count references and figure legends when counting pages or words. Tables and figures count as 1 page each. If this is your first order with Hoppenrath Publishing, payment, in US dollars, is required at the time you place your order. You may pay with an international money order or a check drawn to a US bank. You may also pay by wire transfer, but there will be additional charges incurred for using this method.
